[Switzerland] Doctoral Candidate in Physical Metallurgy at The Swiss National Science Foundation
Candidate in Physical Metallurgy at The Swiss National Science Foundation.
The above positions are available as part of a new project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation within the Laboratory of Mechanical Metallurgy at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
This project aims to produce, using a novel process, individual, custom-shaped, cast `microsamples` of single-crystalline aluminium only a few micrometres in diameter that can be tested individually.
The scientific goal of the project is to contribute, using this new approach to sample generation, to our understanding of size-effects in dislocational plasticity.
Candidates for the postdoctoral position should mail their letter of interest and curriculum vitae to :
Dr. Russell Goodall,
LMM Station 12, EPFL,
Lausanne 1015, Switzerland,
E-mail : russell.goodall@epfl.ch
Candidates for the doctoral position should send a full application dossier to the Materials Science and Engineering doctoral programme of EPFL web site: http://infowww.epfl.ch/Imoniteur/doctoral_web.htm).
Specifying in their cover letter and statement of objectives that they are interested in this position, and then inform Dr. Goodall of their candidacy at the address above.
